The Civ4SeaLevelInfo file declares the three types of sea levels used for determining the percentage of water during map generation.
All tags must be opened and closed; the first is the "open", the second the "close" tag. If nothing goes inside a "list tag", then it should just be the opening tag with a "/" before the closing bracket. The following tables contain all available tags, as well as their purpose and accepted values.
Tags
Text
Tag Name | Description |
---|---|
SeaLevelInfo | This tag brackets of all of the information declared for each of the three standard sea levels. |
Type | This is a tag used internally by the game to refer to the particular sea level choice. Prefixed by SEALEVEL_, the three default sea levels in the game are LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH. |
Description | This declares the text tag used in the Civ4GameText_Help file to describe the effects of this option when using the "Play Now" screen on the main menu. |
Integers
All of these tags have a numerical value. Though it sometimes can be negative, it usually is not.
Tag Name | Description |
---|---|
iSeaLevelChange | This integer tag changes the percentage of water on the map by the given value. For example, SEALEVEL_LOW has a value of -8, meaning that the percentage of water on a map with the Low sea level option will be less than on a Medium sea level map, which has a value of 0. |
Example
In the following example of code, please note that there is a specific order of all of the tags. You must list the tags in this order for the game to properly interpret your file.
<SeaLevelInfos> <SeaLevelInfo> <Type>SEALEVEL_LOW</Type> <Description>TXT_KEY_SEALEVEL_LOW</Description> <iSeaLevelChange>-8</iSeaLevelChange> </SeaLevelInfo> </SeaLevelInfos>
